But back to me for now – I guess that’s what you came to this page for 😉
First of all, no, I’m not a “typical developer”. And no, I don’t have a degree in software engineering or in any other IT related studies. Instead, I have a BSc in International Business and I have worked in various fields, such as (online) marketing, UX/UI design, sales, auditing and I somehow even ended up in Hong Kong where I worked at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
In summer 2019 my professional aspirations finally solidified when I decided to join the Web Development Bootcamp from UpLeveled. That was definitely the turning point in both, my professional and personal life. After 3 months of coding all-day / everyday, I graduated and was sent off with my flashy programming certificate in hands with the mission to find a job. But I soon realized that the job I wanted doesn’t exist. Hm… let me rephrase that: It does exist, but it’s called “running my own business”.
So that’s what I did and I founded JUELKA where I’m in charge of all the things I love, like:
- Project management
- Customer service
- Creating new websites
- Improving existing websites
- UX/UI design
- Really anything design-related
- (Online) marketing
- …and much more!
Of course, there are still some tasks I don’t love, like (ugh…) bookkeeping. But let’s stay positive!
I’ve always been striving for a career that pushes me to continuously learn new things and develop my problem-solving skills on the job, while enabling me to build things from scratch and let my creativity flow freely. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that I recently discovered my passion for frontend development.
So no, I don’t have a degree in software engineering or an infinite number of years of experience in the IT sector, but what I do have is the ambition to succeed in this field and to deliver great value to my clients, to always over-perform!
Check out my portfolio to see what I made my clients happy with! 🙂
